These terms apply to the use of raffkarva.com and to purchases made through it. By using this website or placing an order, you agree to these terms. They are written plainly and honestly — there is no small print.
Who I Am
raffkarva.com is operated by Raff Karva, a freelance individual based in Edinburgh, Scotland. For any questions about an order or any other matter, please use the contact form.
Use of This Website
This website is provided in good faith and maintained to the best of my ability. I make reasonable efforts to keep it available and functioning, but I cannot guarantee uninterrupted access and am not liable for any loss or inconvenience resulting from downtime or technical issues. You may use this website for lawful purposes only.
Client Image Gallery
The image gallery on this website has two tiers. The public portfolio is open to anyone to browse. Certain albums are private and accessible only to clients with login credentials — these accounts are created by me on request and are personal to the individual client.
Images in the private gallery are provided for personal use only — for example, downloading your own photographs for personal printing or private sharing. They may not be used commercially, published, or redistributed without my written permission. Copyright remains with me in all cases.
Photography Services
These terms relate to print purchases and use of this website. Any booking for photography services — including but not limited to weddings, portraits, pets and events — is subject to a separate contract agreed at the time of booking. That contract will govern the specific terms of the engagement, including deliverables, usage rights, cancellation, and payment.
Photography service contracts are governed by the laws of Scotland and the United Kingdom, or by the laws of the country in which the services are provided where those laws apply.
Copyright
All images created by Raff Karva — whether published on this website, featured in the client gallery, shared on social media, or featured in third-party publications — remain my intellectual property. Viewing or downloading images does not confer any licence beyond personal use.
Clients who receive images as part of a photography service are granted a personal licence to use those images as agreed at the time of booking. That licence does not transfer copyright. Any commercial use, resale, or publication beyond the agreed scope requires my written permission.
Purchasing a print grants you the right to display and resell the physical print. It does not transfer copyright. The image may not be reproduced, copied, or used commercially in any form without my written permission.
The Prints
All prints are fine art giclée prints produced to order by AM Imaging, an Edinburgh fine art print studio with over thirty years in the photographic industry. Each print is made specifically for you after payment is received, and personally inspected before it is packaged and posted — if it does not meet the standard, it is reprinted before it ships. Sizes and paper types are as described on the Prints page. All reasonable care is taken to ensure that colours and tones shown on screen are faithfully reproduced in print; however, slight variations may occur due to differences between screen calibration and print output. This is normal and inherent to fine art printing.
Pricing
All prices are shown in pounds sterling (GBP) and are inclusive of VAT where applicable. Shipping is calculated at checkout based on your delivery address. Prices are subject to change, but any change will not affect orders that have already been placed.
Payment
All payments are processed securely by Stripe. I do not handle or store your payment details. Your contract with me is formed when payment is successfully processed and you receive an order confirmation. If payment fails, no order is placed.
Production and Delivery
Because every print is made to order, please allow 3–5 working days for production before dispatch. Delivery times will vary depending on your location and the shipping method selected at checkout. I currently ship to the United Kingdom, the European Union, Norway, and Switzerland. I am not responsible for delays caused by couriers or customs.
Customs duties, import taxes, or VAT charges may be applied by the destination country on orders shipped outside the United Kingdom. These charges are the responsibility of the buyer and are outside my control. I recommend checking your country's import regulations before placing an order if you are unsure what charges may apply.
Cancellations and Returns
Because all prints are made specifically to order, they are exempt from the standard 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 (the exemption for goods made to a consumer's specification). Once production has begun, I am unable to accept cancellations or returns based on a change of mind.
However, if your print arrives damaged, defective, or is not what you ordered, please contact me within 7 days of receiving it with a photograph of the issue. I will arrange a replacement or a full refund at no cost to you. You do not need to return the damaged print.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Scotland. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
Updates
These terms may be updated from time to time. Any changes will not affect orders already placed.
