I'm Raff, Edinburgh-based freelance photographer and writer.
Photography started in a darkroom. It's stayed with me through wildlife at dawn, weddings, live music venues, portraits, and sports events. I work with both natural and studio light, and I take the shoot and the edit equally seriously.
Writing came later, or maybe it was always there. I have an MA in Semantics and I write about privacy, ecology, data, and the ways systems shape what we think we know. I try to find primary sources, do the research properly, and say what the evidence actually shows.
Lately I've been building tools for corpus linguistics — harvesting, classifying, and analysing media language at scale. That work lives on Codeberg.
